Coronavirus :63-year-old woman tests positive in Jammu

Srinagar : A 63-year-old woman was tested positive for coronavirus, in Jammu on Monday taking the total number of people who were found positive for the deadly virus in India to 30. This is the first positive case reported from Jammu even though swab samples have been taken from almost 450 people in J&K.
The patient were admitted at Government Medical College Jammu. It may be recalled here that two residents of Jammu and Kashmir were admitted to the hospital with the symptoms of coronavirus. They had a history of travelling to Iran and Korea. An official at GMC Jammu said that woman had travelled to Iran. “She has been quarantine and is stable so far,” the doctor said, wishing not to be named.
Earlier, the J&K administration termed two patients as “viral heavy load cases”. “The woman’s test has come positive. She has a travel history to Iran. We await the final report of another patient,” said an official.
Both the patients are undergoing treatment at the isolation ward of the Government Medical College Hospital. Doctors described their condition as “stable”. Earlier, two patients tested positive for the virus in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
Meanwhile, officials said that the situation was being monitored. “All contacts of the suspected case are being tested and quarantined. Around 400 people are under surveillance in Satawari and Sarwal areas of Jammu. Anganwadi centres in these areas have been closed till March 31,” said an official
