India Pakistan trader fire along LoC in Poonch

Jammu: Indian and Pakistani soldiers exchanged fire and mortar shells along Line of Control in Pooch district of Jammu region.

Defense sources told Kashmir News Trust that Pakistan Army on Tuesday lobbed mortars and fired from small arms to target forward posts and civilians areas along the LoC in Jammu and Kashmir”s Poonch district.

The areas targeted were in Kirni, Qasba and Shahpura, sources said. The firing and shelling has triggered panic in border areas.

On Friday last, at least seven residential buildings were damaged in heavy Pakistani shelling along the Line of Control in Shahpur, Dokri and Qasba areas in Poonch district. (KNT)

Five youth included a suspended cop go missing in Pulwama

Pulwama, Feb 25, KNT: From past couple of weeks at least five youth including a suspended cop have gone missing in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Police sources told Kashmir News Trust that the cases related to missing youth have already been registered and a hunt has been launched to trace them.

While families of these missing youth are anxious about them, security agencies have apprehensions that these youth might have joined militant ranks.

Police sources said that at least 5 families have registered missing reports about their sons at different police stations and posts. Among these missing youth one is a suspended cop from Chakoora area of Pulwama whom police sources identified as Towseef Ahmed Mir. The other missing youth have been identified as Owais Ahmed of Ashmandar, Bilal Ahmed Wagay of Litar and Nawaz Ahmed Ganai of Muran.

A police official confirmed that, at least five youth are reported missing in different parts of Pulwama district. He said efforts are on to trace them. “It would be premature to say anything about these youth. We are on job and trying to locate them,” he added. (KNT)
