No scope for complacency over normalcy

The claim of normalcy with reference to post Article 370 abrogation has to be there for real. Knowing all about changes in the situation on ground witnessing changes just like rains in a monsoon season for over last three decades in Kashmir the incumbent central government does not tend to act in hast even over the restoration of high speed internet services and access to social media sites after shutting the down the both six months ago . The situation of the ground is showing semblance of normalcy in the freezing temperatures of winter in Kashmir but with the onset of winter the claims of normalcy may or may not hold ground in coming summer months as Kashmir is known for witnessing turmoils only during summer months. Since the situation in Kashmir has a bearing on the core sectors of economy like horticulture and tourism the government has to take care of the concerns of the people of both the key economic sectors like horticulture and tourism who suffered heavy losses during six month long security lockdown last year. Demands for sops to farmers and travel and tour operators though deserve immediate attention of the Government in Jammu & Kashmir but so for the concerned field agencies have not even finalized the survey on losses suffered by farmers due to heavies snowing in last twenty years this year. Since the key decisions of the government on the administrative and constitutional status are responsible for the current politico-economic mess in Kashmir the central government directly controlling the Jammu & Kashmir as a union territory owes too many explanations for the failures of the government’s reach out to farmers connected with horticulture sector and tourist and travel operators connected with the tourism industry in Kashmir. Since the fact remains that government can’t establish peace and harmony in presence of a disconnect with the people in the presence of a hostile political atmosphere in Kashmir, the government can’t stabilise the atmosphere of peace and harmony without the immediate revival of the key horticulture and tourism sectors of economy in Kashmir. Even the European Union Envoys after the recent government facilitated trip to Kashmir have sought measures like restoration of high speed internet services.
Though situation is still under control, but there is no scope for complacency over the claims of normalcy.
So the measures ought to be taken by the central government on priority primarily include restoration of high speed internet services ,release of mainstream political leaders detained on flimsy grounds and financial packages for farmers connected with the horticulture sector and tourist and travel operators connected with tourism sector. Though situation is still under control, but there is no scope for complacency over the claims of normalcy.
