Srinagar: Police have reportedly called a person for questioning in connection with the alleged murder of a former militant and top cleric who was found dead in a Srinagar mosque yesterday.
Former Tehreek-ul-Mujhadeen commander, Abdul Gani Dar alias Ghazali, who was a co-accused in Maulana Showkat murder case was found dead inside Jamiat Ahil Hadith mosque in Gowkadal Srinagar.
Sources told Kashmir News Trust that a former militant identified as Ghulam Mohiudding Dar, a resident of Dalgate Srinagar was called by police on Friday.
Sources added that Dar is being questioned about the murder of cleric and currently he is lodged at a police station.
Meanwhile, thousands of people participate in the funeral prayers of slain man at his native Rasu village of Budgam. The mourners demanded stern punishment for the killers. (KNT)
