Srinagar: The Revenue Department has sought approval to the recruitment rules for the newly created registration department.
Authoritative sources told Kashmir Horizon that Financial Commissioner Revenue had pushed through a set of proposed recruitment rules for newly created registration department to yjr government for approval on November 6 last year .
The department of Registration was created days before bifurcation of the Jammu and Kashmir into two Union Territories as J&K Registration Act was repealed by the Parliament when it approved bifurcation of erstwhile State on August 5.
Under the new law, the powers of registration of property are vested with the prescribed revenue authorities. As reported already that Registration Department was created by the administrative council on October 22 last year along with 466 posts and 77 sub-registrars. The powers of sub-registrars were transferred to Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) and Assistant Commissioners, Revenue (ACRs) in November last year.
