Citizenship law in conflict with peace, security

Three shooting cases one after the other during protests against the citizenship amendment act (CAA) in muslim dominated Shaheen Bagh area in Delhi with one of the shooters spotted crying “ only hindus have right to rule “ shows that security of the life of minorities particularly the muslim in the biggest democracy of the world is under threat. Though Union Home Minister Amit Shah in response to one of the shooting cases that resulted in injuries to a Jamia student of Doda district of Jammu & Kashmir said that the attacker won’t be allowed to go scott free but the polarization tendencies of BJP the ruling party in power at the centre have witnessed unprecedented rise in intolerance against minorities particularly muslims under the presidency of Amit Shah during last more than five years across the country. The investigations to punish the culprits as promised by the central government can satisfy the people raising concerns about the prevailing atmosphere of insecurity in the country but rising intolerance against the minorities in presence of religious polarization can’t head to any dead end and as such the onus of curbing the rising tendencies of religious ploarisation lies on BJP the ruling party in power at the centre and in most of the most populous states of the country.
Obviously the political failure of BJP the ruling party in power at the centre over the rising intolerance against the minorities particularly muslims is more dangerous than the institutional, constitutional and administrative failure of the central and the state government. As long as BJP does not shun the politics of polarization, the increasing intensity of attacks on muslims and other minorities won’t end. Since the intensifying intolerance and polarization are threatening the atmosphere of peace and security in the country, the BJP ruling at the centre and in most of the most populous states of the country can’t evade criticism and condemnation either over the policies on citizenship or national security as even onus on the administrative and institutional failures over increasing attacks on peaceful protesters lies on the central government in views of its administrative and institutional jurisdiction over Delhi police . Not demonizing the protestors for peaceful protests against the discriminatory citizenship law but a political engagement with the stake holders opposed to citizenship amendment act (CAA) could be the only right course for the BJP the ruling party at the centre and in most of the most populous states of the country.
