SRINAGAR: Thousands of students have filled and submitted online applications for pre and post matric scholarships at special kiosks the Srinagar administration has set up for the purpose.

These include those from other districts adding up to the total of over 7200 students. These include students who made applications for minority scholarships.

Some 65 computer-with-internet kiosks were set up to ensure facilitation of all students approaching the facilities to register and apply for the said scholarships.

The Srinagar administration also approached the managements of schools and colleges in the district in order to ensure that no interested or deserving student missed out on the chance to make application for these scholarships.

Deputy Commissioner Srinagar Dr Shahid Iqbal Choudhary has made specific instructions to the NIC for setting up these kiosks and ensuring that all students approaching these facilities for the purpose of submitting different kinds of application forms are accommodated and assisted in all manners possible.

It should be noted that the last date for submission of online applications for these scholarships has been extended upto November 15 after the government took up the matter with the GOI and requested for an extension.
