MeT predicts moderate snowfall on November 6 to 8

Srinagar: Department of Meteorology on Sunday predicted moderate snowfall in upper reaches of J&K on November, 6 to 8, however plains likely to witness rains. It said during the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, several higher altitudes of Kashmir and Ladakh region witnessed moderate snowfall.

Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), Director MeT Sonam Lotus has said that on November 6 to 8, upper reaches of Jammu and Kashmir region will witness moderate snowfall. “From November 6 to 8, upper reaches of J&K region will witness moderate snowfall however in plains there would be only rains”, Lotus said.

He added, “During the intervening night of Saturday and Sunday, higher altitudes of Kashmir and Ladakh region including Leh, Zanskar, Pahalgam, Sonamarg, Zojila Top, Sadhna Top, Sinthan Top & Afferwet witnessed moderate snowfall”

Notably, rains lashed Srinagar and other parts of Valley during early hours of Sunday forced citizens to resume warm heaters and hot stuff. (KNS)
