Srinagar: Bharatya Janata Party (BJP) termed the allegation of Congress as “full of lies” and “baseless”. It said Like NC and PDP, Congress too knew it if it will take part in elections, people will reject them.
Talking to Kashmir News Service (KNS), BJP senior leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta said that the allegations leveled by Congress Chief G A Mir during a presser are “full of lies” and “baseless”. He said Congress knew it very well if it will be a part of BDC polls, people will reject them.
Gupta added that though Congress has decided to stay away from BDC polls but it will use proxy candidates. “National Conference and Congress will use proxy candidates in BDC polls and their announcement of poll boycott is an attempt to befool people at gross root level”, BJP leader told KNS.
He said, Congress and NC never believed in democracy and always tried to sabotage the democratic exercises in Jammu and Kashmir. “Earlier they boycotted Panchayati polls but later on they took part in Lok Sabha polls. This shows their double standard”, Gupta said.
He told KNS that everyone can be the part of BDC polls and BJP hasn’t stopped anyone from participating. “If their one or two leaders are under arrest, but their second line leadership is free. They should come forward and contest”, BJP leader added. (KNS)
