Bandipora: A cloudburst hit Arin Dardpora areas of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Saturday afternoon, triggering flash flood in these areas.

Locals told Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a residential house was damaged and some others suffered partial damage after flash floods caused by cloudburst hit Arin, Dardpora. “The paddy crop, orchards, roads and residential houses suffered damages,” they said.

They told KNO that several bunds were also destroyed and that they feel frightened to stay in the damaged houses. Meanwhile, twenty students of Government Primary School Dragbal were trapped inside school building after flash floods took place. However, the villagers rescued all the students and moved them to the safer places.

In another similar incident, few residential houses were partially damaged after a cloudburst hit them this afternoon at Aham Shareef area of district. A senior official of the district administration told KNO that the residents would be compensated once the assessment of losses is completed.
