SMC Mayor inaugurates community hall at Palpora, holds public darbar

Srinagar/July,22: Mayor Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Junaid Azeem Mattu Monday inaugurated community hall/smart ward office at Palpora in presence of Deputy Mayor Shiekh Imran and Commissioner SMC Khurshid Ahmed Sanai.
Mattu on the occassion said by having these community halls eases out problems of people in organising social gatherings who do not have enough space.
These community halls also offer nominal/affordable charges and provide large space in organising various social events with parking facility availble further said Mattu.
After inaugral session, public darbar was also held in palpora in presence of the concerned Corporator Ashraf Palpori,where people put forth thier greviances and other various issues including drainage and other developmental activities.
While putting forth the issues of improper drainage facility and lack of drinking water facility by the people of Palpora area , Mayor assured them to take up the matter with the concerned and ensure prompt disposal of the greviances.
He was also apprised about the developing play ground at one of the sites in Palpora by the youth and was requested for speedy development of play ground.

Mayor has also passed on directions for construction of CTPT(community toilet/public toilet) as a part of developing play ground where people also offer congregational prayers on different occasions including Eid prayers.

Issues regarding macadamization of roads were also taken up during darbar on which Mayor assured to take up matter with R&B at an earliest

2.The anti encroachment squad of Srinagar Municipal Corporation today sezied truck load of articles, goods including furinture, carpet and other various day to day commodities from shopkeepers and street vendors during anti encroachment drive conducted at Hari Singh High Street, Sarai Bala, Jahangir Chowk and its adjoining areas.

On the instructions of Divisional Commissioner Kashmir followed by Addtional Commissioner SMC Mr Nazir Ahmed Baba stringently ,SMC under his supervision is rigourously carrying out anti encroachment drives in different parts of the Srinagar city.

The shop keepers are being time and again warned not to display thier selling items outside the shops and street vendors occuping road side spaces and footpaths are constantly being dispersed off by anti encroachment squad of SMC and there by seizing thier all essentials on spot.

Despite facing mob fury and scathing attacks by street vendors, SMC is continuously carrying on with these drives and shall put in every effort to make city free from encroachments for hassle free traffic and smooth pedestrians movement said Nazir Ahmed Baba.
