Div Com (J) reviews arrangements for Budha Amarnath Yatra at high level meet in Jammu

Jammu: Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma Friday reviewed the arrangements for annual Baba Budha Amarnath Yatra at a meeting.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Ramesh Kumar, Director Tourism Jammu, Deepika Sharma, DIG, Vivek Gupta besides senior functionaries of concerned departments and members of religious organization and organising committee while Deputy Commissioners of Rajouri and Poonch attended the meeting through video conferencing.
It was informed that the Yatra will commence on August 5 and the first batch of pilgrims will pay obeisance at the holy shrine on August 6, while the Yatra will culminate on August 16, 2019.
The issues related to security, transportation, setting up of langers, medical facilities, sanitation, water and power supply, traffic, lodging and boarding of pilgrims, publicity of Yatra were discussed in detail.
The Div Com directed DCs of Rajouri and Poonch to ensure that all the necessary arrangements are put in place well in advance for smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage.
The Divisional Commissioner directed the concerned authorities to start making the arrangements needed to be made. He called for close monitoring and coordination among the concerned departments for making available adequate stocks of essential commodities, Medicare facilities besides cleanliness en-route to the shrine.
