Srinagar/July,19: A personal security officer (PSO) of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader and Mehbooba Mufti’s cousin Sajad Mufti was on Friday afternoon shot dead outside a mosque in Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district. The attackers also decamped with the service rifle of the slain cop.
Reports said that Farooq Ahmad the PSO of Sajad Mufti was standing guard outside a mosque in Baba Mohalla area of Bijbehara when he was shot at by the gunmen and shifted Sub District Hospital Bijbehara where he was declared brought dead Mufti was offering prayers at the mosque when the attack took place.The gunmen, reports said, also decamped with his service rifle. However a formal confirmation from Jammu and Kashmir Police is yet to come.
