JAMMU: Seeking early regularization of the daily rated workers and other categories of casual workers besides other employees working on contractual or adhoc basis in various departments across Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference State Secretary Rattan Lal Gupta on Thursday regretted over delay, saying this has jeopardised career of thousands of youth, a statement issued here said.
In a statement issued from Sher-e-Kashmir Bhavan here this afternoon, Mr Gupta hoped that the Governor’s Administration will do justice with every segment or workers engaged on daily rate basis and employees on the adhoc arrangement in academic in higher education. “This will bring respite to thousands of families and those engaged, whose careers have been at stake for long”, he said adding that some of these are waiting for justice for over a decade.
He said the workers and Lecturers/demonstrators working on academic arrangement basis in various Government Polytechnics in Technical Education Department for the past 20 years, Jammu Municipal Corporation, Technical Trained Workers under SLRM, Academic Arrangement, Need Based ITI, Non ITI Workers Union and others have been knocking every door for justice but the administration is showing sadistic apathy to their plight.
Questioning the logic in lingering on the issue of regularization despite a policy decision taken in this regard by the National Conference government six years ago, Mr Gupta sought decision on humanitarian grounds as the families of all these categories of workers have virtually come on the roads due to delay in salaries and arrears pending for years.
Pledging support of National Conference to all the categories of such workers and employees, Mr Gupta said the party will please their cause at every forum.
