While the people expect a stable central government to firm up roots of political stability in the states also but unfortunately the incumbent Narendra Modi led government is continuing to instigate political instability in non BJP ruled states even after getting a massive mandate for another term of five years. Though BJP central leadership knows it well that stable states and a centre are equally important for sustaining the fast track development and economic growth of the country but the incumbent Narendra Modi led government at the centre is continuing its policy of imposing the political writ of BJP in non BJP ruled states just to ensure that the saffron party’s idea of Congress free India is implemented through dirty tricks of defections and political blackmail. Prime Minister of the country warning West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Benerjee of the defections of dozens of her legislators from Trinamool Congress to BJP shows that the saffron party tends to execute its plan of wresting power from non BJP parties in non BJP ruled states only through defections. BJP’s plans of changing majority into minority worked well in Goa but not in the other states of the country. Months before the commencement of Lok Sabha elections BJP tried to change majority into minority through dirty tricks of defections and worst kind of political blackmail in Karnatka but it’s plan of defections and political blackmail did not work well in this Souther state. After getting brute majority the BJP again tried to instigate defections in the Congress party the ally of Janta Dal (Secular) in the Kumaraswamy led coalition government but saffron party’s yet another unholy attempt of wresting power from Janta Dal(S)-Congress coalition government is heading for a failure again.
The experiences of a coalition with BJP in Jammu & Kashmir have almost closed the doors for the party’s alliance with any other party in Jammu & Kashmir as it not only pulled out of the Mehbooba government mid way but also did not respect its own commitments on the working of a coalition government in alliance with PDP. Enforcing political instability in a state like Jammu & Kashmir won’t take the saffron party closer to the stabilization of peace and restoration of popular rule in the state and executing plans of directly exercising its direct control over Jammu & Kashmir government just to impose some provocative constitutional and administrative orders won’t take the incumbent Modi government nearer to stabilization of peace and political stability in the state. While the Modi government blames Congress for pulling down elected governments through undemocratic means the saffron party presently controlling and commanding the central government won’t be furthering the cause of democracy and development if it continues to prolong the process of restoration of popular rule in the state.
