PMKKKY scheme: Over Rs 4.90 lakh royalty collected by Distt Mineral Foundation Trust Kishtwar, DDC reviews implementation

Kishtwar: District Mineral Foundation Trust Kishtwar, constituted in the run up to the launch of Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY), has collected over Rs 4.90 lakh royalty in last financial year.
District Development Commissioner (DDC), Angrez Singh Rana chaired a meeting with members of DMFT to discuss the modalities for effective implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Khanij Kshetra Kalyan Yojana (PMKKKY) and the utilization of the collected revenue.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Pawan Parihar, Joint Director Planning Mohammad Iqbal, CMO Dr. Abdul Majeed, ALC Anoop Kumar, DSWO Tariq Qazi, District Mineral Officer, Rakesh Kumar besides the members of District Mineral Foundation Trust were present.
PMKKKY is a programme meant for the welfare of areas and people affected by mining-related operations, using the funds generated by District Mineral Foundation (DMF).
District Mineral Officer informed the meeting that District Mineral Foundation Trust has realized Rs.4.94 lakh, 10% of total Royalty collected during the financial year 2018-19 and the same is to be utilized on high priority areas such as Education, Health, Child Care, Skill Development and for Welfare and Developmental programs that will complement the existing ongoing schemes.
After threadbare discussions on the proper utilisation of the collected amount and implementation of PMKKY scheme, the DDC directed DMO to provide an amount of Rs 3 Lakh to DSWO Kishtwar for purchase of furniture including Almirahs, Computers, LED for Kishtwar Balashram and Rs.1.94 lakh to for construction of toilets at Gulabgarh Paddar.
