Though BJP General Secretary Ram Madhav may be knowing it himself that imaginations are very rarely changed into realities in politics and when it comes to imagine about the BJP’s victory in assembly elections in muslim majority Jammu &Kashmir state the possibilities of changing imaginations into realities not only become difficult but impossible as well. BJP General Secretary Madhav may party may see winds of change reaching Jammu and Ladhak regions of Jammu & Kashmir state from other states of the country in the wake of saffron party’s landslide victory in recently held lok sabha elections for the second consecutive term but these winds of change can’t reach Kashmir where the political emotions of the people are not guided by the political ambitions of the national level political parties particularly BJP but by the core political agenda of Kashmir’s regional political parties . In Kashmir the issues of priority are the security of life and property, withdrawal of draconian laws, protection of the legislations concerning special status of the state and the conflict resolution processes revolving around the intra Kashmir dialogue and resumption of Indo-Pak bilateral talks. For any national party particularly Congress and BJP the resolution of issues concerning people of Kashmir is an indefensible offence and more so when the parties are preparing for the forthcoming assembly elections in the state. The public anger against BJP’s vicious campaign against all laws concerning the article 370 and article 35 A governing citizen rights act is intensifying with every passing day across Kashmir.
A party which people believe is responsible for the current mess in Kashmir can’t even think about emerging as single largest party in the assembly elections the time when regional political parties National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will be tending to fight the national parties like Congress and BJP with their full might. Regional parties will continue to dominate the political scene till the core issues concerning security of life and property of the people, special status of the state and dialogue for resolution of the basic political sentiment are addressed by New Delhi. BJP can be part of any coalition government in Jammu & Kashmir but it can’t even think about leading any coalition government or becoming a dominant ally of it keeping in view the unacceptability of it’s core political agenda in Kashmir valley and almost five districts in Jammu and Ladhak regions of the state.
