Srinagar: A 17-year-old boy drowned while taking bath in Khanan area of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Monday evening.
Officials identified the boy as Aaqib Ahmad Magray, son of Ghulam Rasool of Khanan drowned in Power canal at Khanan, Kangan while he was taking bath.
Locals said that after the incident, police was informed and a search operation was launched to retrieve the body.
The body was retrieved hours later and was handed over to his relatives for last rites, a police official said.
