Jammu: Commissioner JMC, Pankaj Magotra convened a meeting of Sanitation Wing to review sanitation activities being executed in wards of Jammu Municipal Corporation.
Expressing concern over declining graph of user charges, the Commissioner directed the concerned to gear up their men and machinery for improving collection of user charges. “Efforts are underway to extend the facility of door to door collection of garbage in every ward”, he added.
He directed the Chief Transport Officer, JMC to coordinate with Health Wing for providing garbage lifting vehicles in time. He asked Health Officer to issue notices to bulk waste generators who have not installed composter in their establishments.
He emphasized on checking of attendance of SKC’s in each ward by the concerned Sanitary Supervisor so that proper sanitation is maintained within the limits of JMC.
Commissioner appealed the general public to extend their support to JMC in maintaining proper sanitation besides asking them not to throw the construction waste and polythene carry bags into nallahs, main cause of choking of nallahs.
Among others Pardeep Singh, Joint Commissioner (A), Sunaina Sharma, Secretary, Dr. Saleem Khan, Health Officer, Talat Mehmood Khan, CTO, Sanitation Officers, Assistant Sanitation Officers, Transport Officer and Sanitary Inspectors participated in the meeting.
