Jammu/July, 1 : The Jammu and Kashmir Rehbar e Taleem Teachers Forum Monday condemned the dictatorial orders of District Development Commissioner Kishtewar conditioning the drawal of teachers’ salaries subject to the production of attendance certificate from Sarpanches of the villages. The Forum has also condemned the alleged harassment and misbehaviour with teaching community of the district over this issue.
In a statement JKReTTF Chairman Farooq Ahmad Tantray termed the order from DDC Kishtewar as dictatorial, unethical and illogical. “The order authorizing ignorant and illiterate village heads is an attempt aimed at maligning the image of nation builders which is never acceptable to teaching community”. Mr Tantray said that the order is against CSR and it can adversely effect the academic work in educational institutions. “Empowering politically motivated people will lead to undue interference and personal grudges with teaching staff in schools”.
Mr Farooq Ahmad Tantray said there is a foolproof monitoring mechanism to check the punctuality and smooth functioning of teaching learning processes in schools. The JKReTTF rejects this dictatorial order and will never accept this authoritarian highhandedness. The Forum has appealed the higher ups in the administration including Chief Secretary to look into this anti-teacher attitude of a district administrator before it snowballs into major confrontation.
