Protests against Tabrez’s lynching erupt at Doda, Gujar Nagar Jammu

Jammu: People took out A protest march at Gujar Nagar Jammu and a candlelight march at Doda on Friday afternoon and Thursday evening respectively against the killing of Tabrez Ansari a muslim lynched to death in Jharkhand few days back.
Reports said that All India Students Federation District Council Doda took out a candle march on Thursday evening at district headquarters Doda for Justice for Tabrez Ansari killed by a mob suspecting him to make an attempt to run away with a motorbike . Trabrez was tied to a tree and beaten up brutally and also forced to chant ‘Jai Sri Ram’. The candlelight march was taken out AISF District council and attended by large number of students at old bus stand Doda .Speaking on the occasion, Comrade Sulinder Parihar Sarazi, District President said that some people trying to divide our secular India in the name of religion, adding that “Tabrez beaten by police and mob that forced him to chant Jai Shree Ram”. Alleging that he didn’t get proper treatment and died”. “Look how system changed the mentality of public, we deman strict action against the culprits wheather they are cops or commoners”, said Sarazi. Addressing the protesters that State Joint Secretary Comrade Sahil Charak said”day by day mob lynching incidents are increasing in our country and we urge the government to stop such type of incidents, everyone is living under fear”.
Meanwhile youth in Gujar Nagar area of Jammy on Friday took out a protest march against the killing of Tabrez Ansari immediately after Friday prayers. Soon after the Friday prayers youth took out a protest march from Jamia Masjid to Gujjar Nagar Chowk. Protesters ware shouting slogans “Tabrez kai Katiloo ko fansi doo, fansi do”. Protest ended peacefully later.As already reported Tabrez Ansari was allegedly tied to a pole and thrashed with sticks by a mob in the Jharkhand’s Seraikela-Kharsawan district last Wednesday on the suspicion of theft and he succumbed to injuries on last Saturday. He was seen in a video being forced to chant “Jai Shri Ram” and “Jai Hanuman”.
