Srinagar: In connection with the ongoing ‘Back to Village’ Government-Public interface program, multifarious activities were held Wednesday across different Gram Panchayats of Kargil district in the Ladakh division.
Gram Sabhas were held in Wakha, Mushkow and Chanigund Panchayats of the Shargole and Kargil blocks, besides in Ufti-Pipiting and Padum of Zanskar block, among others, during which designated officers and Gram Sabha members deliberated upon the formulation of need-based plans for the development of Gram Panchayats.
Commissioner Jammu Municipal Corporation Pankaj Magotra and Additional Secretary Hospitality and Protocol Tilak Raj interacted with the PRI members and villagers at GP Ufti-Pipiting and Padum and also took stock of the ongoing activities under the initiative.
The visiting officers also sought feedback from the PRI members and prominent citizens about the status of the implementation of different welfare schemes at the grassroots level and also took a detailed appraisal of the problems and grievances of the people.
Meanwhile, other designated officers conducted the inspection of schools and health centres in various Gram Panchayats and took stock of educational and healthcare facilities being provided to people.
