DC Jammu chairs Rogi Kalyan Samiti meeting at Govt distt hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu

Jammu: District Development Commissioner Jammu Ramesh Kumar who is also chairman of Rogi Kalyan Samiti of Government Hospital Gandhi Nagar Jammu convened a meeting of all the members of the committee.
Among others who were present in the meeting including Medical Superintendent Dr. Chander Parkash, Chief Medical Officer Jammu Dr. Danish Khan, Corporators, Executive Engineer, NGOs, and other prominent citizens.
Medical Superintendent while welcoming the participants highlighted that the biggest achievement of the hospital has been the certification by the State for National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) and hospital is being upgraded to achieve the same standards by the central government also. Highlighting the work done report of the hospital, the Deputy Commissioner was informed that a total of 68386 patients were examined in the month of April and May this year and a total of 289 institutional deliveries were carried out in the hospital during the same period.
Enquiring about the decline in the institutional deliveries during the past years in the hospital, Deputy Commissioner directed the hospital authorities to increase the institutional deliveries by way of proper awareness and further directed the Chief Medical Officer Jammu to strengthen the facilities available in the primary health centers and community health centers.
Ramesh Kumar while examining the availability of medicines in the hospital enquired about the status of procurement of medicines and directed authorities to speed up procurement process. He also directed the authorities to increase a number of cases under Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) through proper awareness.
Focusing on Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK), Deputy Commissioner laid stressed on convergence between different department to reduce duplicity and to optimize the work done. He also directed the authorities to fill up the vacant post of Speech Therapist and pediatrician at District Early Intervention Centre.
Deputy Commissioner also directed Chief Medical Officer and Medical Superintendent to figure out vacancy position so that the same can be filled on priority. Ramesh Kumar also reviewed the progress achieved under the E-Hospital project and directed the authorities to take up the matter with National Health Mission and National Informatics Centre for completion of the same.
While enquiring about the disaster management plan of the hospital, the Deputy Commissioner was informed that the Disaster Management Plan is being implemented. He directed that a special ward should be identified to cater to the patients of disaster affected eventualities. He also directed the Executive engineers to complete the pending repair and renovation besides drainage issue in and around the facility. He also directed the authorities to make the hospital differently abled friendly. He also directed the authority for identify place for Jan Aushadhi Shop.
The Deputy Commissioner also directed the authorities to complete the tender process for parking. He assured for full support from district administration for the upgradation of the hospital including installation of Air Conditioners and allotment of funds for upgradation.
