Srinagar: An elderly Kashmiri Pandit was allegedly thrashed by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawans at Qazigund on Srinagar-Jammu national highway.
Meanwhile, a video in which the Kashmiri Pandit, Krishan Raina, alongwith his wife narrating the incident has gone viral on social media — including Facebook, Twitter and WhatsApps.
However, a CRPF official rejected the allegations, saying it was Mr Raina who first argued with the CRPF personnel, who were guarding the area in view movement of a convoy on the highway.
In about 1:30 minute video, Mr Raina alleges that his vehicle was stopped by two security force personnel at Levdoora. “I was going to Qazigund. I was asked to stop at Levdoora and was later directed to go back. I told them that I was out to get medicine for my wife who was accompanying me,” the elderly man said.
He said that the security forces without any provocation thrashed him with wooden sticks. “They asked me why I was in Kashmir if I was a Hindu,” he said in the video.
Mr Raina also showed his burses on his arm and head in the video.
