Jammu: Day 2 of ‘Back to Village’ initiative saw activities being undertaken in 23 panchayats of the district, with visiting officers undertaking public meetings and inspections to assess status of public services available in these areas.
People raised a multitude of issues concerning their areas besides emphasizing the need for further enhancing coordination among the government departments and the PRIs to ensure all the development programs are implemented in a more cohesive and pragmatic manner.
Kishtwar: Day five of ‘Back to Village’ initiative recorded multitude of activities being undertaken in 40 panchayats of the district with a slew of activities like extensive public interactions, registering of grievances of people about the implementation of various schemes, inspection of public utilities, holding of awareness camps and other allied activities.
The day commenced with great enthusiasm and response from the public who are taking keen interest in this ambitious program and raised various issues with regard to development of the villages with the officers seeking their intervention for an early redressal.
Interacting with the PRI members, the designated officers advised them to adopt new techniques like polygreen houses, construct eco friendly pond, adopt rain water harvesting in the villages, sustainable agricultural practices. He also apprised people of various centrally and state sponsored schemes that have been made available for them and urged PRI members to ensure that maximum people enroll and take benefit under these schemes.
Major issues recorded Monday included inspection visits, awareness, extensive interactions, inaugurations, plantation drives, issuance of Job cards and other Certificates, augmentation of power supply and medicare facilities, road connectivity, inclusion of left out beneficiaries under Ayushman Bharat and other flagship programs, school up gradation among others.
Ramban:the event recorded massive participation of PRIs, General public and field functionaries during first day of third phase under “Back to Village” program being organized in the district.
Distract Development Commissioner, Showkat Aijaz Bhat visited various panchayats of Ukhral and Ramsoo blocks to review implementation of 3rd phase of “Back to Village” program in 32 Panchayats. The event witnessed massive participation of PRIs, field functionaries and locals. DDC was accompanied by Assistant Commissioner Development Ramban Zaffar Ahmed Banday, BDOs and other officers and officials of RDD. DDC raised awareness among the general public about various welfare schemes including PM Kissan, PMAY, PM Sharmdhan, Ayushman Bharat, Saubhagya etc.
Doda: Day five of ambitious “Back to Village” program evoked massive public participation in the district with the designated officers assessing the public grievances and needs besides taking stock of implementation of various flagship schemes launched for socio-economic empowerment of rural populace. A multitude of activities was recorded in all the 59 Panchyats under Phase -III in the district.The officers held series of meetings and interaction with the members of PRIs, gram sabha members, prominent citizens and locals wherein they sought feedback from them about ongoing development works and listened to their grievances.District Development Commissioner, Dr Sagar D Doifode visited various panchayats and interacted with PRIs and villagers. He inaugurated additional block of HSS Ghureka and Health centre Ghureka besides laying foundation stone for playground at Lower Bijarni B panchayat. The day witnessed many activities like distribution of soil health cards, Job Cards, Shramdaan, Swachtta activities, awareness camps besides holding of meetings with elected ‘panchs’ and ‘sarpanchs’, mahila gram Sabhas.
