Phase-II of pioneering initiative “Back to village” prog begins at Rajouri, Poonch

Jammu: In its endeavor towards taking the dispensation at doorsteps of the people, the civil administration in Pir Panjal region Saturday launched Phase-II of the initiative on day 3 covering all allotted Panchayat Halqas.

Rajouri: The first day of the second phase continued with great enthusiasm and synergy in 80 panchayats of the District witnessing multi activities by the officers, PRIs and the public as well. The visiting officers organised interaction programs in which public including senior citizens, stakeholders, retired government employees, youth and women participated and projected issues of their concern. The officers apprised the people of various central and state government schemes. The people put forth various demands and issues before the officers including improvement in drinking water supply, unscheduled power cuts, low voltage, enrollment of farmers in PM Kisan scheme, electrical poles, repairing of damaged roads, old age pension etc. The visiting officers inspected several development works in the panchayats including PHCs, water supply schemes and other traditional water bodies. They inspected the mid day meal scheme and checked the meal being served to the students besides visiting Anagwandi centres to check availability and quality of ration there. The officers also inaugurated number of developmental work like culverts, Fish farms, connecting paths and bridges. The DDC conducted an extensive tour of various panchayats of Manjakote area and took stock of implementation of the program from the visiting officers. Meanwhile, Assistant Commissioner Development and District Panchayat officer also visited various panchayats and held interaction with the visiting officers and the general public. The visiting officers urged the sarpanchs, panchs and senior citizens to ensure their participatory role plan formulations for effective development in their areas. The public appreciated this unique initiative of Governor’s administration hoping that such events will continue to be conducted for socio-economic empowerment of rural parts of the state.

Poonch : Second phase of the pioneering initiative of the government “Back to village” program Saturday recorded extensive interactions, deliberations, inspections, awareness programs besides getting public feedback on development works. Nearly, 57 panchayats of 11 Blocks in the district are being covered under the program in the 2nd phase. Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Yadav, visited several Panchayats including Khari and Karmara and assessed the status of activities being carried out there under the initiative. He launched plantation drive at Karmara, besides inaugurating houses constructed under PMAY. He also inaugurated an over bridge at karmara. He inspected the functioning of PHCs and Government Primary Schools. At Kassalian Panchayat, the designated officer met with the representatives of the panchayat and listened to grievances of the people besides visiting schools and dispensary there. The designated officers met with the representatives of their allotted Panchayats and discussed the issues and development scenario there. The officers were apprised of various demands and problems of the Panchayats.
