DIC organizes a one day seminar on “Intellectual Property Rights” in Jammu

Jammu: Directorate of Industries & Commerce, Jammu Anoo Malhotra organized a one day seminar on“Intellectual Property Rights” at Bari Brahmana Industrial Association Office, SIDCO Complex Jammu.
Renowned corporate personality Dr. C.K. Sehgal, was the Key Speaker on the occasion, who has a vast experience in corporate sector including marketing, petrochemicals and pharmaceuticals. The guest faculty shared his views on “How IPR adds value to business in respect of Trademark, Word-mark, Design & Patents and what is Patentable which results in Intangible Assets”.
General Manager DIC Jammu Namrita and Abhishek Vaidya also spoke on the occasion .The other officers present on the occasion were Joint Director [Dev], Jammu Sandesh Sharma, Asstt. Director [Dev] Mohinder Sharma, Project Manager Indra Thakur, President, Bari Brahmana, Industrial Association Lalit Mahajan, President Gangyal Association . Rattan Dogra, President, Birpur Association Deepak Dewan and President, Digiana Association Jatinder Aul were also present alongwith their associate members and added their valuable inputs.
Some important aspects like historical background how IPR came into being with introducing MONOPLY as a new word in English dictionary, IPR as an intangible asset for a business and how it adds value to business and provides a platform for sustaining and future growth for business, different types of UIPR and brief introduction of each viz Tradmark, copyright and patents and patents are the prime need for the future growth and details in respect of what is patentable and how to identify non enforceable patented technologies in public domain which are free to use and provide a base for future development.
The seminar also focused on the ways and means required to add value to business by taking up IPR and patents. The guest faculty highlighted the things that are to be required to be patented so that the industries well know how their patents rights are infringed.
