Shopian /June, 23:Four militants were on Sunday morning killed in a gunfight with the government forces in Daramdora village of Keegam area in south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
Confirming the killing of four militants in the gunfight police in a statement issued after the gunfight said “On a credible input a cordon and search operation was launched at Panzar area in District Shopian, by Police and security forces. During searches, militants fired upon the search party. The fire was retaliated leading to an encounter,” adding that “in the ensuing encounter, 04 militants were killed and the bodies were retrieved from the site of encounter, he said, adding the identities and affiliations of the slain is being ascertained” .
Saying that “Incriminating material including arms and ammunition was recovered from the site of encounter”, Police in its statement further said a case has been also registered in this connection.
