Srinagar/June, 21 : Law enforcing authorities on Friday morning disallowed Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman Syed Ali Shah Geelani from attending Urdu Book Fair event at Kashmir University Srinagar .
The police and paramilitaries deployed outside Geelani’s residence didn’t allow him to move out to travel to Kashmir University campus for attending the book fair event at the invitation of the students. As already reported Geelani had on Thursday accepted the invitation of Kashmir University students for Urdu Book Fair programme.
Geelani was scheduled to leave from his Hyderpora residence at 10 a.m. morning.
“Urdu book fair has been organized in the Kashmir University and the students of KU have invited All Parties Hurriyat Conference chairman, Syed Ali Geelani on 21 June 2019 at 11:00 Friday,” the statement issued on Thursday this week had said.
While thanking students for their invitation in Book Fair, Hurriyat Conference (G) Chairman of had accepted the invitation.
