Meeting held to enforce NTCP, COTPA-2003 at Reasi

Reasi: A District Level Coordination Committee, DLCC meeting cum sensitization workshop was convened by District Health Society Reasi at district headquarters under the chairmanship of ADDC Reasi, Ramesh Chander here Thursday. The meeting was organised in collaboration with International Union against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease under National Tobacco Control Program, NTCP. District level heads of Government Departments, Civil Society, Media & other stakeholders were part of the meeting.
Among others, those present at the meeting included Chief Agriculture Officer, Onkar Choudhary, ARTO Reasi, Shammi Sharma, Assistant Labour Commissioner Reasi, Dy.SP HQ Reasi, District Tuberculosis Officer Udhampur, MS DH Reasi, Dy CMO, BMOs and others.
Chief Medical Officer Reasi, Dr Parminder Singh gave a brief presentation on the Role and Responsibility of designated Committee members on Tobacco Control. This was followed by detailed presentation by Divisional Nodal Officer NTCP, Dr Mridula on NTCP & COTPA-2003. She emphasized on the fact that lots of deaths occur annually due to the use of different forms of tobacco.
Chairman and ADDC Ramesh Chander impressed upon all the participants to help the administration in enforcing the NTCP & COTPA-2003.
