Srinagar: National Council for Promotion of Urdu Language (NCPUL) in collaboration with Iqbal High School Soura Wednesday organized an inter-school debate in which students of different schools participated.
The students at the occasion debated over the title ‘Importance of Urdu language in the educational set up of Jammu and Kashmir’.
The debate was organized at Ibn-e-Khaldoon auditorium of Kashmir University in which students of 15 private and government schools took part.
Director Academics Farooq Ahmad Pir was the special guest while as Dr Rashid Aziz of central University, Dr Zoor Kashmiri of Women’s College Nawa Kadal and Abdul Majeed Khan a senior journalist were among the jury.
The students who bagged the positions were Ardeesh Manzoor of Islamia Higher Secondary School Rajouri Kadal, Mania Shafa’at of City Centre School Khanyar and Tahoora of Iqbal High School Soura.
The students will be awarded on the conclusive session on June 23, 2019.
