Div Com (J) reviews progress on dev projects, visits GMC Doda

Doda: To take stock of information regarding the progress on mega projects of doda, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, on the second day of his two day tour of the district, visited Government Medical College Doda to review the progress on various ongoing development works there.

During the visit, Div Com took stock of various ongoing works in the GMC like construction of column structure of administrative and academic block, block masonry and allied works.

Div Com directed the concerned officers to work in double shifts to ensure timely completion of all the development works being executed in the GMC. He also asked for resolving the issue regarding permanent approach path towards GMC Doda.

Later, Div Com visited Akramabad Doda to review progress on the long pending project of truck terminal, the issue was also highlighted in Wednesday’s senior citizens meet.

The Div Com directed MC Doda to start the pending work on the project within a week’s time ensuring its timely completion.

In this regard, he asked District Development Commissioner Doda Dr Sagar D Doifode, who was also accompanying him during the visit, to seek weekly report on status of the project which will ease traffic congestion in the area.

Div Com also visited the proposed site for establishment of park near Malwas and directed the administration to work on this project for early start.

The Div Com also directed PMGSY to complete all the pending works of culverts on Doda Bhagwah road with immediate effect for smooth traffic movement. He directed the forest department to launch a plantation drive alongside the roads for further beautification of the town and of its adjoining areas. He also directed the Sericulture department to increase the number of nurseries besides promoting other innovative activities like basket making etc which will enhance the livelihood avenues for the local artisans.

Others who accompanied the Div Com during the visit were ACR Doda Kaiser Ahmed Bhawani, CPO Doda Parshotam Kumar, SE PWD, Tehsildar Doda and other officials of the district administration.
