Srinagar: Days after Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted raid in J&K Bank headquarters, the Income Tax department Tuesday conducted raids at private offices of Deputy Mayor Srinagar, Sheikh Imran in Bohri Kadal area of old city and Sangarmal.
An official said that the team of officers visited the private office of Deputy Mayor and were scrutinizing the relevant documents. The official said that a separate raid was also conducted at Deputy Mayor’s private office at Nowgam. “The search was being done to scrutinize the documents,” the official said.
Meanwhile, Dy Mayor said that he was fully supportive of all investigation to ensure transparency and adherence to income tax laws. “I extend my full cooperation to the IT Department. I am a law abiding businessman and will continue to ensure the laws are upheld,” he said.
