Disastrous trends of news age mainstream politics

Though the future of mainstream politics is bleak for several reason but the appearance of deadly corrupt youth in the mainstream politics is a serious concern which if not addressed rightly by the veterans of top mainstream parties would prove disastrous for the future of electoral politics and governance in Jammu & Kashmir state. Young leaders tending to defect from one party to the other in few months but not in years shows that they want to thrive on pelf and power instead of coming up from the grass roots to the top levels in mainstream politics. The youth tending to join politics with the motives of earning easy money through unlawful trade practices are not as much responsible for ruining the mainstream politics as are the legends of top mainstream political parties particularly National Conference (NC), Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) , Congress, BJP and Peoples Conference. Very rarely youth from efficient academic backgrounds tend to join politics and the reason for mainstream politics becoming a breeding ground for deadly corrupt new age politicians is the accumulation of disproportionate assets by the first time legislators in just a single term of six years. Some new mainstream political parties have emerged on the political scene in both Jammu & Kashmir divisions of the state but the new age mainstream leaders heading these parties are unfortunately pursuing the same traditional politics which the oldest mainstream parties are propagating for last more than half a century in Jammu & Kashmir state.
The public service used to be the benchmark of politics four decades ago but accumulation of assets in connivance with deadly corrupt land brokers and construction workers has become the sole motive of the present day mainstream politicians. Unfortunately mainstream leaders lure youth to follow them for the wrong reasons which have ruined the work culture in government departments and key institutions of the government. People can’t forget the extension and expansion of the institution by the popular governments which ruled the state till mid eighties but have no points to follow the present day mainstream leaders propagating the ideas of regional and religious encroachments for the purposes of pelf and power. As the new age mainstream leaders are taking cue from the legends of several top mainstream parties who don’t tend to drift away from the paths of corruption and corruptocracy, the future of mainstream politics looks bleak .
