Srinagar: Government of India (GoI) appointed special representative for holding talks in Jammu and Kashmir Dineshwar Sharma on Tuesday met Governor Satya Pal Malik at Raj Bhavan here, an official spokesman said this evening.
Meanwhile, newly appointed MP from Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal also met Malik, he said.
He said Sharma Union Special Representative for Dialogue in J&K apprised Governor about his gathered opinion regarding the political and developmental aspirations of people across the State.
Governor and Sharma discussed a range of issues relating to the internal security situation, recent initiatives taken by the Administration for ensuring equitable development of the State and bringing accountability and transparency in the administrative set up and initiatives required for protecting and promoting the educational and career interests of youth. They also discussed arrangements in place for smooth conduct of Amarnath Yatra, commencing from July Ist.
Spokesman said Namgyal apprised Governor about the developmental and political aspirations of the people of Ladakh and expressed his gratitude for making Ladakh a separate administrative Division and sanctioning a Cluster University.
Governor congratulated Namgyal on his being elected as a people’s representative to the Lok Sabha and wished him a successful term as a Member of Parliament.
