Srinagar: An Army soldier was killed in accidental fire in central Kashmir district of Ganderbal, official sources said.
They said a soldier, identified as Taran Kumar, was cleaning his service rifle on Saturday in an Army camp in Manasbal in Ganderbal. “The rifle went off accidentally, resulting in injuries to Kumar,” they said.
They said the injured was immediately taken to a health care facility from where he was referred to Army’s 92 Base Hospital in Srinagar. However, they said Kumar succumbed to his injured at the hospital.
“Police has registered a case and initiated investigation into the incident,” they added.
