Srinagar/June, 9: Justice Hasnain Masoodi, National Conference Leader and Member of Parliament for South Kashmir has demanded Pahari Tehsil for Kund Qazigund. Emphasizing the need to include Kund area in State’s developmental journey and bring Ziyarat Noor-ud-Din Bagdadi (R.A) on Pilgrimage Tourist map, Justice Masoodi has pointed out that Kund witnesses heavy snowfall and is practically cut-off from rest of the valley for most part of winter and therefore, the administrative machinery remains inaccessible to the inhabitants of Kund area during most part of the year. Recalling the Waltango mishap when snow storm and avalanches uprooted scores of households and delay in relief and rehabilitation of the affected people, Masoodi has demanded a permanent SDRF unit at Waltango. He has also asked for upgradation of receiving station and road connectivity between National Highway and Waltango, Khrew – Bardalow and Ladhu and Babseer.
Masoodi has demanded declaration of Sheikh Noor-ud-Din shrine at Ladhoo and Wahab Sahab at Shar-e-Shali Khrew as Pilgrimage Tourism destinations and improvement of facilities for thousands of pilgrims who visit two important shrines every week. Justice Masoodi was addressing public gathering at Razvol, Kund, Wahab Sahab and Khrew. Justice Masoodi has assured that he would strenuously work for revival of Sufi Tourism Circuit so that funds are mobilised for promoting pilgrimage tourism in the State in general and South Kashmir in particular and linking these with main tourist circuits.
