Srinagar /May, 2: Shab-e-Qadar, the night of power was in the night intervening Saturday and Sunday observed  with religious gaiety and fervour and across Kashmir.

Reports said the biggest congregation was held at historic Jamia Masjid Srinagar where Mirwaiz Molvi Umar Farooq led the night long prayers.

As part of the festivities, muslims Saturday night thronged mosques and shrines for night long prayers across the valley as the muslim fasting month of Ramadhaan is about to end.

Along with the Jamia Masjid in Nowhatta area of the city, scores of devout Muslims gathered at Dargah Hazratbal, Dast-e-Geer Sahib and Sayed Yaqoob Sahib shrines.

Muslims across the world perform night-long prayers on the 26th night of Ramzan to celebrate the first revelation of Holy Quran to Prophet Muhammad (SAW ).

Preachers and religious scholars shed light on the importance of Shab-e-Qadr and teachings of the life of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW ) and urged Muslims to follow the same.
