Jammu: An International Art Exhibition of Black & White Drawing Art works was inaugurated by Prabhinder Lall, a senior and celebrated artist from Chandigarh at Kalyani Art Gallery of Society for Prabal Pramanik Academy of Arts, Bhamlada Bhatwan on Pathankot- Dalhousie Highway in Punjab on 31st May, 2019. Jang S. Verman, a senior and well known artist from Jammu was the guest of honour on this occasion. The exhibition is organized by Society for Prabal Pramanik Academy of Arts (SPPAA), Bhamlada (Pathankot) in collaboration with ArtFort India, Chandigarh and Verman Cultural Celebrations, Jammu. Arup Chandra artist looking after the gallery was present on this occasion.
Twenty four drawing art works in black & white, executed by Kaziban Ertugrul (Turkey), Prabhinder Lall, Manmadha Rao, Neeti Joshi and Parminder Kaur (Chandigarh), Harpreet Kaur (Jalandhar), Mintu Deka, Minakshi Bargohain and Bandana Nath (Guwahati), Sankari Mitra (Kolkatta), Vaishali Pakhale and Vandana Prihagya (Nagpur), Roma Bahl (Lucknow), Neelu Kanwaria (Jaipur), Nishi Nitya (New Delhi), Shivali Jamwal and Jang S. Verman (Jammu), Arun Kumar Pallur and Muktipada Nandi (Odisha), Shivani Singla (Ludhiana), Dr. Suneet Madan (Mohali), Riya Abrol (Chamba), Amita Khare (Gwalior) and Monisha Saha (Bangla Desh) have been displayed in the exhibition.
Various art techniques and mediums like Pen- n- Ink, water colour, pencil, charcoal and crayon drawings, NoPaint Images (an innovative technique) etc. have been executed by different artists in their works put on display in the exhibition.
The purpose of organizing a show, entirely dedicated to black & white art works, is to revive the mediums in long tested visual expressions used by our ancestors to express and share their views. Further Black & White works are not involved in details which create diversions in the imagination of the viewers. The third view in this regard is that while viewing Black & White visuals the viewer merges his ‘imaginative fill ups’ to complete the visuals according to his wish.
The three organizations have organized many national and international level art exhibitions and art workshops at SPPAA in the past also. The exhibition will remain open up to 10th June, 2019 daily between 11 AM and 5 PM.
