“Abter uen kae hamlou sae yehae kya haal ha..
Maedani pani pat ki Tara paimaal ha..”

M.N. Azam

Today in my piece of writing I would love to highlight the difficulties and troubles we the southern people face frequently. We feel to be the most unfortunate and ill-fated beings to be from south Kashmir.. … … … … … … … South Kashmir, nowadays considered as dangerous place in kashmir is my native land ,my child hood memories ,friend circle , everything belonging to me: my parents, my family , lie there. Despite this strong relation with south kashmir, i now hate it the most for it became the biggest cause of my mental depression.. Present conditions there pain me , and add more to my already sufferings and woes… By profession I am a student and consider myself as the biggest sufferer there in south . My Education and my child hood life both got ruined badly there, my parents who should at least take my responsibility as their prime priority also seem now taking no interest in me, my education and studies, as they remain busy in discussing the daily CASO’S, Nocturnal raids and crackdowns. This disinterested approach of elders and specially parents towards the youngsters is a dangerous and treacherous thing there. In the modern world Internet is of same importance like oxygen and water in one’s life. For student community specially it if of huge importance , online application forms, online exams, shopping etc all possible only through internet services.
One can say that students especially are wholly dependent on internet in this modern science era… Access to computers and the Internet has become a basic need for education in our society.” But in our south kashmir hardly you could be able to use internet service for 2 -3 days in a week…or when highest four days a week.. Our administration seems paying no attention towards this menace which is repeatedly and frequently haunting people of South Kashmir very badly.
Internet blockade has become a common woe their and the users seem to be wailing for there respective business stalling. The students, business class are suffering mega losses and unfortunately ourgovt seems to have no worry about it as they remain busy in celebrating the neutralizing of militants and blindsiding of babies. This is the common and biggest woe ruining the carrier of education and business there…It is my experience there…: Suppose.. “Encounter is in Baramullah”……internet shut down would be in south Kashmir… “Gunfight happened in sopore”….internet would get snapped in our south … “Voting in north Kashmir “…..internet will be banned in south…… Even when South Kashmir specially Pulwama and Shopian were out for polling, our administration kept internet away from us even before days together and termed it as a precautionary measure to ensure fear free elections.
What is going on…..I fail to understand..! South Kashmir is just like a barren land where everything seems to be in a state of depression and trepidation. Recent study unveiled the fact that Kashmir is the place experiencing the frequent Internet shutdowns in world. I think in last year 2018, we, southern people, were able to use Internet for at the most 6 months only….For about half of the year there was “Net Shutdown” call from Government. Internet should never get snapped, for it has become our basic need now, life without internet is just like a paralyzed body which is of no use. Snapping Internet I think in no way helps maintaining law and order of the state but to me it adds more to the already sufferings, confusions and woes of the masses. Whenever internet gets snapped in south Kashmir, automatically people become panicky and create havoc. So our administration should rethink and review its frequent “Net shutdown” calls so that no one is affected and masses do not feel any inconvenience. Think something different….something better…
