Kupwara/Ma,16 : A gunfight erupted between the militants and government forces on Thursday morning after a cordon and search operation was launch in forest areas in Kandi belt of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district .
Reports said army’s 47 RR, 28 RR and SOG on specific information about the presence of militants in the Kupwara forests launched a cordon-and-search operation in Portel Nad and Razdan Nad forest areas of Kandi belt . Fierce exchange of fire was going on till the last reports came in.
