Srinagar/May,13 : Senior political activist and contesting candidate from Baramulla parliamentary constituency Najeeb Naqvi Monday demanded fast track investigation into the alleged rape case of three year old minor girl of Sumbal area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district .
Urging Governor’s administration to investigate the matter on fast track basis as the culprit is already in police lock up which is not sufficient for such heinous crime , Naqvi said “police should bring the fact findings into public domain on day to day basis “. Saying that ” it is unfortunate that such heinous crime take place in kashmir a place of sufis and saints Naqvi apealed the people to maintain calm peace adding that “criminals committing such heinous crimes have no religion” .
Saying that maintaining brotherhood peace and harmony is need of the hour, Naqvi said “people especially the youths are requested not to pay heed to rumours which disturb the atmosphere of peace”. Condemning the heinous crime Naqvi said called for introspection adding that ” what’s going on is a lesson to think “. Calling the incident an eye opener for the people Naqvi said “We have to take necessary measures to ensure that such type of criminal activities don’t occur in future. Calling upon the police and the administration to ensure an exemplary punishment to the guilty so that the criminals learn a lesson, Naqvi urged religious leaders, civil society groups and social media activists to play a major role to play to curb growing immorality with a heavy handeve .
