The drill continued for hours on Sunday morning and was aimed for internal security audit as well as to put in place a well devised security plan worked out jointly by security forces and agencies to deal with any untoward incident or law and order problem, senior superintendent of police, SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas said who was personally supervising the drill.
During the curfew plan mock drill, columns of JK police, army and central para military forces were deployed in and around Rajouri town and especially at 22 vulnerable points which have been identified during a weeks long secret exercise conducted by authorities, said SSP.
Magistrates from civil administration under the supervision of District Magistrate Rajouri Mohammad Aijaz Asad were also deployed along with security force columns during the drill and all the entry and exit routes were sealed while frisking of vehicles and pedestrians was also conducted, he added.
Senior police officers, Army Officers from Ace of Spades Division and central para military force officers remained stationed at identified locations which were marked as zones and sectors, he further said.
SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas who was personally supervising all the arrangements said that curfew plan mock drill is a routine exercise of forces which ensures preparedness of all agencies and their swift response to law and order problem vis-a-vis studying of loopholes if any for corrective nature. SSP Rajouri Yougal Manhas also said that curfew plan mock drill also aims towards tightening the security grid to thwart any nefarious designs of unlawful elements.(KNO)
