Bhaderwah: A joint checking squad comprising officials of concerned departments Wednesday conducted market checking of various businesses.
The team, comprising Tehsildar Zeeshan, SDPO Iftikhar Ahmed, SHO Munir Ahmed Khan, employees of Municipal Committee and CAPD besides representatives of Assistant Controlling Legal Metrology Department Doda, inspected Pasri Bazaar, Takia Chowk market, Seri Bazaar and Jai Road. About 5 kg of illegal polybags were seized and Rs 2100 and Rs.5800 were realized as fine by the officers of CAPD and Metrology respectively from the defaulters.
The inspecting team also retrieved encroached area being used by vendors that was creating hindrance to vehicular traffic and public movement.
The shopkeepers especially fruit sellers and vegetables sellers were cautioned against profiteering and black-marketing during the holy month of Ramadan.
