Srinagar: The government on Wednesday revised and refixed rates of poultry and poultry products in the Kashmir valley, an official spokesman said here this evening.
He said Directorate of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Kashmir has revised and refixed the maximum retail sale rate of Poultry and Poultry products.
He said according to the new rate list, the rate of Broiler (Live) is Rs 150 per kg, Layer (Live) Rs 90 per kg, Parent Rs 150 per kg and rate of eggs is Rs 60 per dozen.
The broiler is presently being sold between Rs 160 to Rs 175 per kg in the market. However, a dozen of eggs presently costs Rs 48 only in the market.
There was no mention of rate of meat which is being sold at Rs 500 per kg about Rs 100 more than the government rate. Vegetables are also being sold on very higher rates in the valley.
