J&K Punjabi Sait Sangam holds literary meet in Jammu

Jammu: J&K Punjabi Sahit Sangam (J&KPSS), Jammu conducted a meeting of the executive committee and monthly literary meet at Sant Mela Singh Ashram, Digiana, Jammu on 5th May, 2019. Poets and writers of Punjabi along with the members attended the programme. S. Rajpaul Singh Mastana, President, J&KPSS presided over the programme.
Sh. Suraj Rattan, General Secretary of the Sangam welcomed the members and participants and put up the proposal to conduct the day’s proceedings.
The meeting was attended by Bachan Bharti, Jang S. Verman, Rajpaul Singh Mastana, Balwinder Singh, Pritam Singh Anjaan, Ichhupal Singh, Mohan Singh Nirala, Sparsh, Tejinder Singh Premee, and others.
It was finalized that the Sangam would organize a one day seminar in connection with the celebration of 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. A literary- cum- cultural programme would held at Abhinav Theatre, Jammu and the poets, writers, scholars of all literary societies/ organizations of the region as well as the intellectuals would be invited to participate in the programme. The programme would include papers reading mainly on the principles of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and such other aspects, Kavi Darbar and Musical programme reflecting on various aspects of life and impact of principles laid down by the great Guru. The same was approved by the members of the executive committee unanimously.
A poetry recitation session was conducted in which Suraj Rattan, Ichhupal Singh, Pritam Singh Anjaan, Bachan Bharti, Jang S. Verman, Mohan Singh Nirala, Rajpaul Singh Mastana and Sparsh presented their poetry reflectin on various aspects of life.
The members observed two minutes silence to pay tributes to Prof. Sewa Singh, a well known Punjabi writer from Kashmir who is considered to be a premier writer to promote Punjabi literary activities in the valley.
The proceedings of the programme were conducted by Suraj Ratan, General Secretary, J&K PSS. Vote of thanks was extended by Rajpaul Singh Mastana, President, J&K PSS.
