Srinagar: A youth who had joined Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) has shunned the path of violence and returned home to join mainstream and lead a normal life in south Kashmir district of Pulwama, a police spokesman said on Monday.
He said a youth, who was not identified for security reasons, had joined JeM outfit. However, with the efforts of his family members and police, the youth finally give up militancy and returned to join the mainstream.
“His identity is protected for security reasons”, the spokesman said and wished him all the best.
He is the second youth who shunned the path of militancy and joined the national mainstream during the past one week.
Senior Army and state police officers recently appealed to local youths, who had joined militancy to shun the violence and return to mainstream to lead a peaceful and normal life. They assure full support to start a new life.
