Distt Level Inter School Tournament held at Udhampur

Udhampur: District Level Inter School tournament for Boys & Girls U/14, U/17yrs in the discipline of Badminton, Wushu and Speed Ball was held Saturday here at Subash stadium and Mini stadium Badminton hall.
Around 60 Boys drew from 14 Government and Private Schools of the district participated in Badminton competition U/17Yrs Boys category, while 52 Boys drawn from different 05 schools of district Udhampur took part in the Speed ball under 14yrs & U/17yrs Boys category . Ten Girls drawn from 03 Schools of district Udhampur participated in the U/17yrs Wushu contest Girls category . The tournament is being organized by the Department of Youth Services & Sports under the supervision of Director General youth services Sports J&K Dr Saleem-ur-Rehman and DYSSO Khairti Lal Sharma.
In Badminton competition under 17Yrs Boys category, Puranjay Sharma of Sharon Public School Udhampur emerged winner defeating Sidharth Khajuria of BBSV Peeth. Achyut of APS Udhampur defeated Prince Sharma of Amardeep HS Udhampur in Speed ball under U/17Yrs Boys.
In Speed ball under U/14Yrs Boys category: – Kushangra of APS winner whereas Tanheshwar of Amardeep HS Udhampur Runner up.
Similarly, in Wushu competition under 17Yrs Girls category, Nilakshi of BBSV PEETH emerged winner in below 40kg, Kushi of APS Udhampur in below 45 KG, Prathana of AOC Udhampur in 48kg, Divya APS Udhampur in 52kg, Suyeasha of AOC Udhampur in 56kg and Suhani Mahajan of BBSV Peeth in 60 kg category.
