Jammu: Following cross LOC exchange of gunfire between India and Pakistan armies in Kerni sector, schools in the area have been ordered closure. Exchange of gunfire between the two sides erupted in Shahpur and Kirni sectors in District Poonch (J&K) at about 0930 hours.
District Magistrate Poonch ordered that all schools of Kerni Sector are hereby closed Thursday due to cross border shelling. Officials said that Pakistan initiated unprovoked ceasefire violation starting with firing of small arms followed by shelling with mortars. “Indian Army is retaliating befittingly,” they said.
