MLCs accuse GAD of inaction despite inquiry indicting doctors of medical negligence in death of MLC’s son

Jammu: A group of MLCs have casted serious aspersions over the working of the hospitals following death of son of one of the MLC’s died allegedly due to medical negligence and inaction on the inquiry report tabled as well.
Ashok Khajuria, Ramesh Arora, Ajay Bharti, Vinod Gupta, Surendar Ambardar and Pardeep Sharma held a joint presser in Jammu on Tuesday over the issue. Reports said that on Oct 23 2016, late Sadhya Arora 28 died due to negligence of doctors in Government Medical College Jammu.
“A team of doctors headed by Dr Anil Mahajan treated Sadhya Arora in a manner which reflects total non professional attitude, careless and casual approach towards a patient who was admitted for treatment in GMC on Oct 17, 2016 and the patient was reported suffering from Dengue fever,” they said.
They told the presser that the inquiry committee thereof formed to look into the matter tabled its report clearly stating that medical professionals did not do their job properly.
Quoting from the report by the inquiry committee they said recommendations of committee has said: “On the basis of that above statements the committee recommends stern disciplinary action against the concerned HOD and the team of doctors who were involved in the medical treatment of the deceased, late Sadhya Arora”. The final report of Joint House Committee was considered by upper house and was sent to Government, chief secretary for further action.
CS after considering the report, they said, and taking legal opinion sent the same to GAD for action. “GAD after considering the report asked CS Health department to take action as per report,” they said.
They claimed that the action has been delayed on one or the other pretext.
“Now we all are concerned that death due to negligence has become a routine matter in GMNC hospital even few days back a pregnant lady was not given treatment in time admitted in SMGS and shifted to GMC,” they said.
